​“My children and I came to the shelter at the end of January and we’re moving out today! This place has been a lifesaver for us. I can never express how wonderful the staff and facility is. We were safe, warm and felt at home since the first moment. The staff have been vital to my success. In my time of being here I’ve accomplished so much that I never thought possible. ​“I really love this shelter! I had no clue something like this was even here. I had to come here because the guy I was going to marry beat my face and head so bad I almost died like 3-8 times. Two of these times I shocked the medical staff when I came back to life. I did not expect to get the help nor support that I received here. The staff was full of love for me and support.  They took time out to listen to my story. Please feel free to talk to the staff here, trust me they will listen.  I pray that whomever has to be in this place will leave with a better outcome and knowledge about their life!! “I can never begin to describe this place we know as “Hope’s Wings”. From the moment you enter the door there is safety. During your stay, you learn to survive then cope then plan for a bright future. The encouragement and trust you gain between these walls surpasses nothing I have ever experienced before. The employers and volunteers here live with a compassion and with love towards humanity not found quite often.  I came from an odd background. I was a military wife that just thought I deserved what I got. The women here taught me I deserve the best and better. Thank you for midnight snack time and all the laughs.
